Decorating with Bedding and Comforters

When it comes to choosing your bedroom decor, a very important aspect to take into consideration is the bedding and comforter  that you will use on your bed.  These sets are often the first part of your bedroom that is noticed. Therefore, you must play close attention to the style and design of your comforter set. The pattern, fabric choice, and texture of your comforter set will lay the foundation for the entire room’s decor.

It’s a good idea to choose one that complements or contrasts your flooring and wall choices. For example, if your walls are light then you might want to add a vibrant and brightly colored comforter set. Likewise, if your walls and floor coverings are dark, you might find that a light or pastel colored set will brighten up the room. You should also consider the fabric and texture of the comforter set, as these can range from shiny satins and silks, to brocades, quilts, and lace like crochet textures. If you choose a texture or fabric pattern that complements your curtains and accessories, you’ll find that the room has a connected and finished look to it.

There are seven major areas to home decorating, and these include your floors, walls, furniture, fabrics, lighting, plants, and accessories. To ensure that your bedroom is properly decorated, make sure that you add plenty of lighting and plants to your room. The plants do not need to be real, they could anything such as artificial flowers, vines, or even natural dried grasses in a large vase. Likewise, the lighting fixtures that you choose can include everything from overhead track lighting, to stand up lamps, or candle wall sconces. Once you focus on all of these areas, you’ll find that choosing sets that are in balance with the rest of the room’s decor is simple and easy.
